The Train Depot was built in 1888, just two years after the commonwealth chartered the Town of Pulaski. It is crafted from Peak Creek granite and affectionately called the Grand Old Lady of Pulaski. It now serves as a community meeting place for events throughout the year and is home to the Pulaski Marketplace, the County’s farmer’s market.

The Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley is located on West Main Street in the Town of Pulaski. This non-profit organization was established in 1978. Its mission is, “believing that art is important to the life of the community, our purpose is to foster an enjoyment, appreciation, and understanding of all forms of art, promote art education, and to encourage and support artists to provide education, art shows, and to continue…… so that all may enjoy the arts.”

Music, is the type of thing that can instantly change our mood and at the same time introduce us to new things and new experiences. You can find all types of music in Pulaski County from beach music ushering in the sounds of summer, to local rock bands and folk music. In Southwest Virginia, there is also a strong interest in old-time and bluegrass music that echos the sounds of multiple generations of music.
Music fills the area parks during the summer from the Town of Pulaski Jackson Park Music series, sponsored by the Fine Arts Center, to the shores of Claytor Lake, at Rock House Marina. You can every style beach music, folk, to modern rock.
